How to Wrap a Present?
Below are the specific details:
Gather Gift-wrapping Materials
Gather the tape, scissors, and wrapping paper, then grab the gift. A large, flat surface, like a kitchen table, should be cleared.
Secure Fragile Items Within Boxes
Be sure to wrap breakable items tightly so they don’t move. (Our suggestion for padding is tissue paper.) Tip: To keep the box shut, apply a small piece of tape.
Measure the Right Amount of Wrapping Paper
your wrapping paper out in a roll. Turn the box so that the paper’s seams are at the bottom and place it in the middle of the unfolded paper. Bring the paper all the way to the opposite edge of the box, up one side and over the top. Determine how much additional wrapping paper you’ll need to cover the uncovered side of the box, and then cut it. Attempt to cut long, even lines. Fold the edge under for a smooth seam if it is jagged.
Secure the Paper to the Box With Tape
On the paper, center the box. Use a piece of tape to secure the paper to the box by bringing one side up and halfway across the top. (You might be able to skip this step with some practice.)
Fold the Other Side for a Cleaner Edge
Make a clean seam by folding the last half-inch of the paper over and pressing a tight crease with your fingers before bringing the second side of the paper up and over the first. Bring up this side so it just touches the first one, then tape it in place. Tip: For a cleaner look, use double-sided tape.
Fold the Paper on Each Side of the Present
Fold the top flap onto the side of the box, beginning at one end, to form two tiny wings. Fold the final triangle of paper up against the box after those have been flattened against it. Tape should be used to secure it.
Stand the Box Up and Repeat Folding to the Other Side
Put your box on its end, working side facing down, and repeat step 6 on the other end.
Add Finishing Touches
Your gift should be embellished with ribbon, gift tags, and bows. For gift-wrap extra credit, learn how to make curling ribbon bows. You just wrapped a present flawlessly, ta da!
