Table of Contents
Draw The Outline Of The Fish
In the middle of your paper, draw an outline of the fish’s shape.
Create reference lines by drawing a horizontal and vertical line that intersects across your paper to ensure that the fish is drawn in the center of it.
You should draw the outline at the intersection of the two lines, which designates the center.
Create The Fish’s Gill Cover
To separate the fish’s head from its body and to represent its gills, draw a curved line inside the outline.
Draw The Fish’s Caudal Peduncle
On the fish’s body’s tapered portion just before its tail, draw another curved line.
Incorporate The Pectoral Fin
We will focus on the pectoral fin, also known as the fin on either side of the fish, in this step. Only one fin is visible because the fish is sideways, as seen in the illustration.
By creating two interconnected curved lines, the fin is given structure. The pectoral fin is made by joining the ends of each curved line at both ends.
It should be shaped like an upside-down oval with pointed sides when properly drawn.
Complete The Fish’s Fins All The Way
The dorsal fins and pelvic fins, which are located at the top and bottom of the fish, respectively, will now be drawn.
Draw an elongated, curved shape that is directly connected at the top of the fish’s body, starting from the dorsal fins.
The pelvic fin is then made by drawing an upside-down triangle at the bottom. Just like that, you see!
Create The Fish’s Mouth
Draw a connected downward and upward diagonal line on the corner of your fish’s face to create an outline resembling a half-rhombus.
Make The Large, Circular Eyes Of The Fish
To make the eye, draw a circle on the creature’s face. Next, make another circle inside the eye to represent the pupil. Now highlight the iris by drawing a tiny circle inside the pupil.
When shading the eyes, shade the entire pupil while leaving out the iris unshaded, creating a dramatic “sparkling eyes” effect.
Add Patterns To The Body Of It
Draw elongated triangular patterns across the body of your fish, as seen in the illustration.
Alternately place the shapes; for example, draw the first triangle at the top edge of the fish’s body, the second at the bottom edge, and so on.
You are welcome to alter the fish’s patterning. The angelfish, for instance, has distinct diagonal lines running the length of its body, whereas common carps only have scales.
Choose the type of fish you want to draw first, and then proceed. Additionally, you can design your own special pattern to produce a one-of-a-kind fish!
Don’t forget to add parallel lines to the fins to give them texture!
Make A Mouth With Bubbles Coming Out Of It
To create bubbles, draw numerous circles above the fish’s head. The fish will appear to be breathing underwater, giving the illusion that it is, and the effect will be more realistic.
The finished fish drawing is visible. To make the fish vibrant and colorful, just a dash of color is needed!
Once we have a fish drawn correctly, it’s time for the most thrilling part—choosing colors and coloring your picture!
This is where you get to show off your artistic talent and your ability to combine different colors.
Fish come in a variety of hues depending on the species. So, when coloring your fish, you’ll definitely have a lot of color options to choose from. Enjoy experimenting with color and observe how the fish eventually comes to life!
